Just around the corner under the Cape Moreton lighthouse is also another popular fishing spot with some of the biggest fish ever landed off moreton being caught here. Fishermen can land tailor, bream, reef fish, dart and a variety of other fish from these areas and being out of the wind the most of the time, it is one off the best places on the island to fish.

The 40km long stretch of ocean is a prosperous fishing spot with great expanses of open water to choose from. Fishing the open beach is most popular in August until December when the Tailor Run is on.
